Croatia Airlines and Zagreb Tourist Board continue to work together to create quality tourism product
11th March 2024, Zagreb
The Zagreb Tourist Board and Croatia Airlines are continuing their successful business collaboration this year as well, which has continuously contributed to the improvement of the tourism product of the capital of Croatia. Precisely thanks to the synergy between the two organisations in creating added value, and thanks to the recovery of the civil aviation sector on a global level following the recent public health crisis, the conditions were created for this year’s expansion of Croatia Airlines’ network of international destinations from Zagreb.
In this year’s summer flight timetable, which comes into effect on 31st March 2024, Croatia’s flag carrier is expanding its network of European flights from Zagreb by introducing three new seasonal routes; namely, routes that interconnect Zagreb and Berlin, Zagreb and Stockholm, and Zagreb and Tirana.
On the new Zagreb – Berlin route, flights are planned to be operated three times a week, on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. On this route, return air tickets are available at prices starting from 149 euros. Flights on the new international route between Zagreb and Stockholm will also be operated three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Return air tickets on this route are available at prices starting from 159 euros. On the new international route between Zagreb and Tirana, Croatia Airlines will be operating flights twice a week, on Fridays, and Sundays. Return air tickets on this route are available at prices starting from 139 euros.
Besides operating seasonal flights to Berlin, Stockholm, and Tirana, Croatia’s flag carrier is also continuing to operate flights from Zagreb to Amsterdam, Athens (via Dubrovnik), Barcelona, Vienna, Brussels, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London (Heathrow), Mostar, Munich, Paris, Rome (via Split, and via Dubrovnik), Sarajevo, Skopje, and Zurich. In other words, passengers will have a total of 18 international destinations available to them from Zagreb to Europe and vice versa.
– Aware of the fact that Zagreb is first and foremost an air travel destination, and in line with an increase in the market demand for air travel services, we are pleased to introduce this season three new destinations that will create stronger and better quality connections between the capital of Croatia and Europe, which will ultimately facilitate the arrival of an even greater number of foreign guests to the capital and the continental part of Croatia. Croatia Airlines’ excellent long-term collaboration with the Zagreb Tourist Board is an example that shows how synergy leads to a quality tourism product, which is why we’re looking forward to our joint projects in the future as well. We’re happy that we can offer passengers an ever-greater choice of international destinations in the year in which we are celebrating the company’s 35th anniversary, and in which we’re starting to replace Croatia Airlines’ fleet with new Airbus A220 aircraft – said Jasmin Bajić, President of the Management Board and CEO at Croatia Airlines.
The Zagreb Tourist Board and Croatia Airlines have been collaborating for many years. More specifically, they have been engaging in joint promotional activities, giving joint presentations, holding business workshops in Croatia and abroad, appearing jointly on the emissive markets that are most important for Croatia, and conducting other activities with the aim of improving the tourism product of the city of Zagreb. One such activity was, for instance, the promotion of Zagreb’s Advent Market inside the passenger cabins of Croatia Airlines’ aircraft with the help of original visuals, and screenings of a promotional film about Zagreb and its surroundings. The multi-month project called A Snack From Zagreb is also worth recalling. The A Snack From Zagreb project brought Zagreb closer to both business and economy class passengers with the help of specialities typical of Zagreb and its region. The project not only promoted Zagreb’s cuisine, but also helped to brand Croatia’s culinary wealth.
– The introduction of new direct flights operated by Croatia Airlines from Zagreb to Berlin, Stockholm, and Tirana acts as a powerful incentive for tourism in the capital of Croatia, and has far reaching positive implications for other parts of our country as well. Increased accessibility and improved connections with the German market further strengthen the reputation of Zagreb as an attractive European destination. Similarly, the operation of direct flights to Stockholm is an important step in providing the Scandinavian tourism market with the opportunity to access Croatia, which will bring new visitors to Croatia who will have the chance to explore the cultural and natural heritage sites of Zagreb. The introduction of flights to Tirana opens the door to new business and tourism opportunities, while strengthening international collaboration. The Zagreb Tourist Board has been collaborating for many years with Croatia Airlines, which is, in its capacity as Croatia’s flag carrier, an important strategic partner of the Zagreb Tourist Board. Scheduled direct flights, as well as daily connections with major airline hubs, are the basis on which we plan our activities and our strategic baseline, which is why I thank Mr Bajić and the entire team of Croatia Airlines for collaborating with us in the excellent way that they have so far – said Martina Bienenfeld, CEO at the Zagreb Tourist Board.
